Perfecting Posture

The difference between healthy and unhealthy posture is pretty significant! A modern-day concern we are facing is the forward head posture. In fact, having a forward head posture has become an epidemic making society sick.

When posture is not properly aligned, additional pressure is placed along different parts of the spine. Neck anatomy is a well-engineered structure of bones, nerves, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. The cervical spine protects the neck portion of the spinal cord. When the head is tilted forward, as much as 6 times the amount of pressure can be placed on the cervical spine.

Recognizing how our bodies interact in surrounding environments can make a big difference in our health. For example, our interaction with modern technology is a major contributor to the forward head posture, which is associated with:
-headaches and migraines
-tempero-mandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction
-neck pain
-myofascial pain syndrome
-shoulder and back pain
-and many more pain complaints!
